Bespoke is not as mysterious as it sounds. It begins with a conversation, and ends with something only you will own.
Most people imagine bespoke jewellery as something reserved for the very wealthy, or the very decisive. Neither is true. Bespoke is simply jewellery made for one person, around one idea. If you can describe what you want, you can commission it.
It is also, in our case, not a different service so much as a different starting point. Every LIRÈNE piece is made to order — nothing is sitting in a drawer waiting to be sold. A commission just means we begin from your description rather than from a design already in the collection.
Begin with the moment
Is it a question, a milestone, an heirloom you want to reimagine? The occasion shapes everything that follows — the stone, the metal, the silhouette. You do not need a sketch. You need a feeling.
The most useful thing you can bring is not a reference image but an observation about the person who will wear it. That they never take their earrings out. That they work with their hands. That everything they own is yellow gold. Those details rule out more bad options than any mood board.
What we will ask you
Four things, usually. What the piece is and roughly what it should look like. Which stone — lab-grown diamond, natural diamond, or moissanite — and whether certification matters to you. Which metal, in solid 18K or vermeil. And your budget.
That last one is worth being straightforward about. A budget is not a limit we work up to; it is the constraint that makes the design possible. Told early, it decides the sensible shape of the piece in a single conversation. Told late, it means redrawing work you have already grown attached to.
How we translate it
From there, we translate. We propose proportions, settings and stones, and we refine with you until the design is right. Where it helps, we will show you an existing piece from the collection as a reference point — not to sell it, but because holding something is worth more than describing it.
You will see the specification in writing before anything is made: the stone and its grading, the metal, the dimensions, the finish, the price in HKD or SGD. A deposit begins the work; the balance is invoiced only when the piece is finished.
How long it takes
Allow five to seven weeks for a commission, against three to four for a piece from the collection. The difference is not the making — it is the sourcing and the deciding. Stones are selected for that specific piece, and designs go back and forth before anyone casts anything.
If there is a date attached — a proposal, an anniversary, a birthday — tell us at the beginning rather than the middle. It is almost always workable with notice, and rarely workable without it.
What arrives
Your piece is finished by hand, packed in its box, and delivered insured by DHL Express. If it is a diamond, its IGI report travels with it. Made-to-order rings include one complimentary resize in the first year, because a ring bought as a surprise is a ring sized by estimate.
The piece that arrives will not exist in any showcase, in any size, in any other hand. That is the point of bespoke — and the reason, once you have done it, it is difficult to go back.
