What we collect, why, and the rights you hold over it — one standard, for every visitor.
Last updated 18 August 2026
LIRÈNE is a made-to-order fine jewellery atelier based in Hong Kong, selling and delivering worldwide. It is the trading name of Olympe Ventures Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong under Business Registration No. 80995295, and that company is the controller of your personal data: it decides what this site collects and why. You can reach us about anything in this policy at atelier@lirenejewellery.com.
This policy is written to the General Data Protection Regulation, the strictest of the standards that apply to us, and we extend it to every visitor rather than only to those in Europe. Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act apply to us as well, and nothing here reduces the rights they give you.
When you order, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, delivery and billing address, and the details of the piece — its configuration and size. We also keep a record of the payment: the amount, the currency, the date and the last four digits of the card. We never see or hold your full card number; it goes directly to Stripe.
When you write to us — by email, through the bespoke enquiry form, or in the chat window on this site — we keep what you send us and our reply, so the conversation makes sense the next time you write. Messages you type into the chat window are sent to our language-model provider in order to compose an answer.
If you subscribe to the atelier letter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. When you first arrive, our server reads the country your request came from so the site can open in a sensible currency — the country only, used once and never stored.
To make and deliver your piece, and to answer you — because that is the contract between us, and we cannot do it otherwise. To keep accounting and tax records, because Hong Kong law requires it. To check a payment is genuine, and to measure how the site is used in aggregate, because we have a legitimate interest in not being defrauded and in knowing which pages are read.
Two things rest on your consent alone, and you can withdraw either at any time without affecting anything else: the atelier letter, and the use of your camera for virtual try-on. We do not send marketing to anyone who has not asked for it.
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing. We do rely on a small number of service providers, each of which processes data only on our instructions and under its own privacy terms.
Vercel hosts this site and runs the functions behind it. Stripe takes the payment and screens it for fraud. Airtable holds the order and enquiry records the atelier works from. Resend sends your order and commission confirmations. Mailchimp sends the atelier letter. OpenAI composes the chat assistant's replies. Google provides the address autocomplete at checkout. DHL Express carries the parcel.
Site measurement is handled by Vercel Web Analytics, which counts pages and referrers without cookies and without collecting anything that identifies you.
Meta measures our advertising. If you reached us from an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram, or if you have agreed to advertising cookies, Meta receives which pages you viewed and, when you order, the order's value and reference. When an order is placed we also send Meta a confirmation from our own server, including your email address in a one-way encrypted form that lets Meta recognise an existing account without ever revealing the address itself. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland none of this happens unless you have accepted; everywhere else you can stop it by declining advertising cookies below, or with any browser or ad-blocking setting that blocks them.
The atelier is in Hong Kong, and several of the providers above process data elsewhere, including in the United States and the European Union. Where data leaves the jurisdiction it was collected in, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism, together with the provider's own safeguards.
Order and payment records are kept for seven years, which is what Hong Kong tax law requires of us. Enquiries and bespoke correspondence are kept for two years after we last hear from you, so a returning client is not asked to explain their commission again. Chat transcripts are kept for twelve months. Your email address stays on the atelier letter list until you unsubscribe, and is removed promptly when you do.
Wherever you live, you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to correct it if it is wrong; to delete it; to restrict what we do with it; to receive it in a portable form; or to object to our using it where we rely on legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything done before.
Email atelier@lirenejewellery.com and we will answer within thirty days. There is no charge. We may need to confirm who you are first, so that we are not handing your data to somebody else.
This site sets no analytics cookies. It sets one kind of advertising cookie, placed by Meta so we can tell which of our Facebook and Instagram advertisements actually bring people here. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland we ask you first and nothing is set unless you accept; if you decline, we do not ask again. Elsewhere it is set without asking, which the law in those places permits, and any browser or ad-blocker setting that refuses it is honoured.
What the site does keep is stored by your own browser, on your own device, and is what makes the site work: your shopping bag, the currency and language you chose, your wishlist, and a note that you agreed to the virtual try-on. None of it is sent to anyone, and clearing your browser data removes all of it.
Our own analytics counts visits without cookies and without building any profile of you. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout page to detect fraud; those are necessary for taking a payment safely. Your choice about advertising cookies is itself remembered in your browser, so that we can honour it without asking again.
Virtual try-on asks before it opens your camera, and it will not open without your agreement. Everything it does happens inside your browser, on your device: the image is analysed where it is captured, and no photograph, video or facial measurement is ever sent to us or to anyone else. Nothing derived from the camera is stored — the only thing kept is a note of the date you agreed, so you are not asked again on every visit.
Nothing about you is decided by a machine. The chat assistant answers questions about the collection; it does not price your order, assess you, or decide whether we will work with you. Every commission is confirmed by a person at the atelier.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
The site is served over HTTPS throughout, payment details go directly to Stripe without passing through our systems, and access to order records is limited to the people at the atelier who need it. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
Please write to us first at atelier@lirenejewellery.com — most concerns are quicker to resolve directly. If we cannot put it right, you may complain to a regulator: in Hong Kong, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data; in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Commission; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office; and in the European Union, the supervisory authority of the country you live in.
We will update this policy as the atelier grows, and the version published here always reflects what we actually do. The date it was last revised is shown at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so rather than let it pass quietly.
Still have a question this page didn't answer? Message the atelier directly.
