Thirty days to change your mind on a collection piece. Bespoke and personalised work is final sale, unless it arrives faulty.
Last updated 16 September 2026
You have thirty days from the day your piece is delivered to change your mind about a collection piece — one where you chose the carat, metal and size from the options we publish. The piece must come back unworn, in its original condition, with its packaging and its IGI certificate. We do not ask you for a reason.
What comes back to you is LIRÈNE store credit, valid for life, for the full amount you paid for the piece. It never expires and it is not restricted to a category, so you can take your time and choose again — or put it towards a bespoke commission. It is credit rather than cash, because every piece is cast and set for one order and cannot simply be returned to a shelf.
Two things sit outside this window, because both are made for one person and cannot be offered to anyone else: a bespoke commission designed with you, and any piece personalised at your request — an engraving, or a stone sourced to a specification you set. Those are final sale once work begins, unless the piece arrives faulty.
To begin, email atelier@lirenejewellery.com within those thirty days with your order number. We will confirm the return and how to send it. Return carriage is at your cost, and because of what these pieces are worth it must travel fully insured and trackable — an uninsured parcel that does not arrive is a loss we cannot make good. Your credit is issued within five business days of the piece reaching us and passing inspection.
A piece that comes back worn, altered, or resized under our complimentary resize is no longer unworn, and we may reduce the credit by the value it has lost. We will tell you the figure and the reason before we apply it, not afterwards.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the next section gives you a separate statutory right — a refund to your card rather than credit — and it takes precedence over this one.
Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have fourteen days from the day the piece is delivered to change their mind, for any reason and without giving one. This covers pieces bought from the collection — where you chose the carat, metal and size from the options we publish — and we grant it plainly rather than arguing that choosing from a menu makes a piece bespoke. Unlike the thirty-day window above, this right is settled in money, not credit: we refund the card you paid with.
To exercise it, email atelier@lirenejewellery.com within those fourteen days with a clear statement that you are withdrawing. You may simply write: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following piece — together with your order number, the date you ordered, the date you received it, and your name and address. A telephone call will not do; we need it in writing so the date is not in doubt.
Send the piece back within fourteen days of telling us. Return carriage is at your cost, and because of what these pieces are worth it must travel fully insured and trackable — an uninsured parcel that does not arrive is a loss we cannot make good. We refund to the card you paid with, within fourteen days of the piece reaching us or of your showing proof that you sent it, whichever comes first.
Two things sit outside this, and the law allows it because both are made for one person only: a bespoke commission designed with you, and any piece personalised at your request — an engraving, or a stone sourced to a specification you set. Those cannot be offered to anyone else, so they are final once work begins. Everything in the collection is covered.
You may handle a piece as you would in a shop, to see whether it suits you — the fourteen-day right is wider than the thirty-day window above, which asks for the piece unworn. If it returns showing more than that handling — worn, altered, or resized under our complimentary resize — we may reduce the refund by the value it has lost. We will tell you the figure and the reason before we apply it, not afterwards.
If you change your mind before production has started, contact the atelier as soon as possible. Whether your deposit can be refunded, in full or in part, is at LIRÈNE's discretion and depends on how far your order has progressed — for example, whether your stone has already been sourced specifically for you.
If your piece arrives faulty, email atelier@lirenejewellery.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. Once we confirm a genuine manufacturing fault, we will repair, replace or refund the piece.
Made-to-order rings from the collection include one complimentary resize within the first year of delivery. Bespoke commissions are made to your exact specification at the time; resizing is available and quoted individually.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights: under Hong Kong's Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap. 26); under Singapore law if you are based there; under the Consumer Rights Directive if you are in the European Union; or under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 if you are in the United Kingdom. Where any of those gives you more than this policy does, that is what applies.
