Matching is most of the work
A tennis bracelet is a row of stones the eye reads all at once, so a single stone that is a shade off, or cut a fraction differently, is visible in a way it never would be in a solitaire. The stones for each bracelet are selected together for colour and cut, which is why the setting takes longer than the number of stones suggests.
Shape, length and width
Round brilliants return the most light; princess and emerald cuts sit square against each other and read as a cleaner, more architectural line; ovals lengthen it. Lengths run 16 to 19 cm — measure the wrist and add about a centimetre if you want the bracelet to move. Where a width is offered, 3 mm and 4 mm are a larger difference on the wrist than they look on a screen.
