What the carat figure describes
Five, eight or sixteen carats is the total across every stone in the necklace, not the size of any one of them. A higher total on the same length means larger individual stones and a heavier line; the same total on a longer chain spreads further and sits lighter. Both numbers matter, and the page gives you both.
Three stones to choose between
