About our hoops
Why pavé
A hoop is always moving, and a single large stone spends most of that movement facing the wrong way. Pavé sets many small stones along the outer edge instead, so there is always part of the line catching light no matter how the hoop turns. It is the setting that suits the shape rather than the setting that sounds most impressive.
Metal, and how much of it
Hoops are offered in recycled solid gold at 9K, 14K or 18K, and in platinum. A lower karat is harder and better suited to a hoop that is opened and closed daily; a higher karat is warmer in colour. Both are solid gold — the difference is the alloy, not the construction.
